That Darn Bee!

Poor Baby M was stung by a bee yesterday at swimming lessons. He didn't have too much of a reaction yesterday but this morning he woke up with a swollen cheek which eventually took over most of his face. His breathing has been normal, so it doesn't seem to be affecting his airway. Besides being a little sleepy from the Benadryl that I am giving him he is sweet as sugar.

His nurses think he looks adorable too!

Homemade parachute man.

Baby M received a very thoughtful birthday box from the Hellberg girls. I finally got around to opening it up and sharing some of the contents with him. The peanut M&M's were confiscated immediately! He loved the pictures, stickers and the other candies that were taped on so secure it took a few hours to get them off. But what he loved most was parachute man. Most 3 year old boys would have the same sort of affection, but his went beyond the norm. You see, his older brother also LOVED parachute man. So much so that he fell to the ground crying, clutching his chest asking why he didn't get a parachute man too. Birthdays are still a tricky thing at his age. Since I knew consoling him wasn't going to work I left him alone on the stairs to "CRY IT OUT". It didn't take that long until the tears were gone and he came to me with the most determined little face I have ever seen. If he wasn't going to get a parachute man well then he was just going to make his own. And make his own he did. He amazes me everyday. No help at all from mom. Buddy's original design.

DETAILS, please!

I am a details kind of girl. Most women are I think. I want to know everything about an event. Who was there, what were they wearing and most importantly tell me about the food.

Remember the wedding that I mentioned a few weeks ago? It happened. We were among the few friend and family that were honored to witness Lee and Nicole become husband and wife. This wedding was put together in less than 3 weeks. Not for any big reason other than they DIDN'T really care so much about the details. They just REALLY wanted to be married, so why wait. The ceremony was simply. No matching outfits, no music, no flowers, no fluff. Want to know my thoughts? It was AMAZING. So pure and perfect I could hardly keep the tears from flowing. Lee walked around the corner and gave a huge wave and welcomed everyone. It was just his style and we felt loved. When Nicole walked down the brick path leading to her man there was a gigantic cheer and a standing ovation. No rules, just spontaneous emotion. These two young kids did something unique that most of us probably wouldn't have the guts to do. It was a precious, memorable day that has been added to my 'best of the best' weddings EVER!

NEWLYWEDS

The Newlyweds are doing superb. So great in fact that they were willing to host our family of seven at their home. The kids loved 'vacationing' at Jeff and Stacy's and have begged us to go back. Hopefully we will get an invite soon! HINT HINT

OBAMA?

The girls and I were driving in the car the other night when the topic turned to presidents or rather THE PRESIDENT. Brooklyn asked if anyone could be president. Bailey quickly responded with, "No, Brooklyn, not anyone!" Brooklyn asked if our friend, Dave, could be president. Bailey thought about it and then said, "Sure, since he is 35 and really smart." We went back to talking about our president. After several minutes of discussion Brooklyn announced, "All this time I thought you two were taking about a LLAMA."

OPERATION WORSHIP

Our family has just purchased a huge stack of bibles. We are joining Operation Worship, an organization that sends bibles to the troops overseas. We will take each bible and write words of love and encouragement and pray over them before we send them out. Like I said, we have a STACK. If anyone wants to joins us let me know!

Doggie Driver

Check this out:

We saw this dog sitting in the drivers seat waiting for his owner in front of the bank. It was the craziest thing. Every time he checked his rearview mirror the kids would crack up.
