A very LONG day

We spent all Saturday down in Pasadena at Heartsent. Stacy came on Friday night so that we could leave early in the morning. The kids were thrilled to have her at the house when they woke up. However, they were very disappointed that Jeff was not visiting too (they are kind of a package deal these days). :)

Our first meeting was with Jill, the director of the Pasadena office. She is very understanding of our situation and helped to plan out as many activities as she could for the day. After meeting with her we had a two hour Orientation class. It was followed by a two hour class regarding the adoption of an 'older child'. Any child over 18 months is considered 'older'. We were slightly burnt out on cold metal chairs at the point! We left the classroom for our first social worker meeting. Not knowing what to expect we were apprehensive. Claire quickly put us at ease and before long our meeting was complete. WHEW- not done yet- We finished the day with a Live Scan background check (fingerprinting).

We arrived home to a driveway filled with chalk drawings and messages. The kids were sound asleep obviously exhausted from a fun day with Stacy. Our bed felt good that night!
