History
Here is a bit of history regarding our adoption of Tate. We started to talk about adopting a child with special needs before we were married (Tate has Down Syndrome). We were unsure of my ability to conceive children with my medical history. Either way we knew we wanted a large family. Both of us were in a agreement that at some point we would like to add a child with special needs to our family. Fast forward through nearly nine years and four biologically blessings and you are up to date! After starting the adoption process several months ago we decide to place things on hold due to our upcoming move to Colorado. A tug at our hearts made us rethink our decision to wait. The MOMENT we saw Tate we KNEW that he was meant to be part of our family. It took close to two months and several name mix-ups to finalize just who our little guy was and that he was "adoptable". We initially decided that we would adopt Tate through the state of Colorado. This however became nearly impossible because we were not physically living in Colorado. Our Homestudy is now being completed with a wonderful adoption agency in California, Heartsent.

Ahh...I've been wondering what your motivation to adopt a child with special needs was. I just now got the bright idea to look in your archives and here it is!
